Faceook Apps, Widgets, PHP Templating, Site Redesign, HP Proliant DL120 and my HTC Touch Diamond
It has been a long while since I looked at this site and updated my blog. I originally created it planning on updating this regularly, but I've kind of fallen behind due to other pressures on my time.
So, what has been going on?
Facebook Applications:
Facebook Apps seem to be all the rage these days, so I've had a try, mainly for a friend's company, which we're currently looking to use Facebook to promote.
Widgets:
Unfortunately these have taken a bit of a back burner - there has been updates, but no new widgets. At this point I'm open to suggestions.
PHP Templating:
I've worked on a novel project that uses PHP to template site layouts. With a bit of CSS and some nice tags it's quite an easy tool to use.
Site Redesign
I swear I change the look of this site far too regularly, but I'm about to push to a simpler, more SEO (Search Engine Optimised) version of my site, which will mean a slight redesign. Don't worry the monkey is staying. I'm going to promise to blog more regularly, and move it up the order in this site. I'll also chang the photos to a randomizer feature and get around to loading a few more on here. This is also down to a jump to a new piece of hardware.
HP Proliant DL120
I like Hewlett Packard, both in printing and computing they offer consistently high quality and good design. I'm what you'd call a die hard fan. At present my web serving needs are met by a Mac Mini, which is a fairly good box all considered. It's been up for over a year now. However I need something a little more substantial and with a little more horsepower. I'll make a shift to HP and possibly even install Windows Server 2008 with CentOS in a Hyper-V environment.
HTC Touch Diamond
I can't leave this without saying about my HTC Touch Diamond, my very latest toy. It's awesome. I had the option of this or the iPhone, I chose this as I'll be developing for the Windows Mobile environment and I must say I'm happy.
